In the last weeks and months, ESTER team members submitted several abstracts for talks at upcoming conferences: We will present our work at the EAA in Athens, at the joint chapter meeting of the CAA Germany and Flanders and at the German „Theories in Archaeology“ workshop on „Digital Minds or Digital Mines“. We are very much looking forward to exchanging ideas on demographic modelling, biases and uncertainties with our colleagues!

Alongside this we have been busy developing paper ideas and writing first drafts for case studies as well as simulation studies. We are working hard on getting these done soon, so that we can share them with the wider public. We have also improved our internal data management infrastructure in preparation of the now increasing amount of information we have to keep organised.

Last but not least, we are very excited about the process of hiring new team members. We received highly qualified applications and are now considering them very carefully. The interviews we had so far went all absolutely excellent, which does not make the decision easier. All this is good news for us and we are confident that we will soon have a great team together that will start by September.
