We are pleased to welcome Sophie C. Schmidt as Postdoctoral Researcher for Archaeological Data & Proxy Development in the ESTER project.
Sophie will contribute to the development of archaeological demographic proxies and the integration of archaeological data across Europe and Western Asia. Her PhD research at the Freie Universität Berlin focuses on the 5th millennium BC in Brandenburg and its connections to neighbouring regions, employing statistical hypothesis testing and modelling to study settlement patterns, land use, and regional interactions.
With her expertise in quantitative archaeology and modelling, Sophie strengthens the interdisciplinary core of the project and will play an important role in advancing its methodological framework.
